DO I NEED TO RSVP?
HOW MUCH DOES THE EVENT COST?
The event costs nothing for guests.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Doors open at 5:30 pm as we plan to begin promptly at 6:00 pm.
WHERE DO I PARK?
Parking is located on both the front and rear of the church (entrances off Gayton Road and Cambridge Drive).
IS THIS APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN?
The event is not designed to keep children engaged and the content is best absorbed by listening and engaging with the speaker and fellow participants with minimal distraction. We recommend parents find childcare for the duration of this event should they wish to attend.
WHEN DOES THE EVENT END?
The event is expected to end at 8:00 pm.
IS THERE AN INTERMISSION?
Yes. There will be an intermission with light refreshments and an opportunity to visit tables with area church information between Calvin Duncan's presentation and the interview portion of the forum.
WILL THERE BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO ASK QUESTIONS?
Yes. Participants are provided index cards to write their questions and submit to the forum before intermission. Questions will be gathered in time for the interview portion of the event, wherein Rev. Win Davis will be asking submitted questions to Calvin Duncan and discussing.
WHO IS CALVIN DUNCAN?
Calvin Duncan is a community leader, activists for change, minister and mentor. He was first recognized for his athletic accomplishments as an All-American basketball player at VCU, then garnered national media coverage when he turned down a lucrative NBA contract to join Athletes in Action, an international non-profit devoted to promoting peace and unity through Judeo-Christian teaching and ethics. He often speaks and teaches on unity, racial reconciliation and making a difference with one's talents and resources.
IS THIS A CHRISTIAN EVENT?
This event is from Christian perspectives but open for the community. We hope that people of all denominations and faiths can participate and gain insight from this opportunity for community connection.
